ELEMENTARY-II: SUMMARY
Build on your Elementary-I foundation, and earn certification to guide 9 through 12 year olds as they continue their adventures in learning about the world around us. Adult Learners who complete this course and either already have their American Montessori Society (AMS) Elementary-I credential, or sucessfully complete their MMTTC Elementary-I program will be recommended to AMS for their Elementary I-II credential.
Prerequisites:
- Membership in American Montessori Society (AMS)
- AMS Montessori Certification in Elementary-I (from an AMS affiliated program) or current enrollment in MMTTC’s Elementary-I program

ELEMENTARY II: SCHEDULE
PHASE I (Summer 2026)
Lecture – Demonstrations of the Montessori Elementary-II curriculum and further discussions of the Montessori elementary philosophy.
- Schedule: Monday, June 22 - Friday, July 24, 2026
- Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM with 1/2 hour for lunch.
- Independence Day Holiday: No class on Friday, July 3, 2026
- Location: Riverwoods Montessori School, 3140 Riverwoods Rd., Riverwoods, IL 60015
PHASE II (School Year 2026-27)
- Institutes - Two, 3-day institutes (Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays), one in fall 2026 and one in winter 2027
ELEMENTARY II: FACULTY
KIRSTIN NORDHAUS M.ED
Kirstin is an AMS Montessori certified Elementary I and II teacher. Kirstin received her Elementary I and II certification at MMTTC. She is currently an instructor in Elementary II Geography/History.
MANDI KAUFMANN
Mandi is an AMS Montessori certified Elementary I and II teacher. Mandi received her Elementary I and II certification at MMTTC. She is currently an instructor in Elementary II Science.
ALEX CALHOUN
Alex is an experienced AMS Montessori certified Elementary I, Elementary II teacher. Alex received his Elementary I and II certification at MMTTC. He is currently an instructor in Elementary I Geography/History and Science and Elementary II Geography/History.
ERICA LANE
Erica is an AMS Montessori certified Elementary I and II teacher and received her Elementary I and II certification at MMTTC. Additionally, Erica has the Montessori Leadership and Administration certification. She is currently the Head of School at Brickton Montessori School.
MARY ANDERSON
Mary is an AMS Montessori certified Elementary I and II teacher. Mary received her Elementary I and II certification at MMTTC. She is currently an instructor in Elementary II Mathematics.
NICK BEATTY
Nick is an AMS Montessori certified Elementary I and II teacher. Nick received his Elementary I and II certification at MMTTC. He is currently an instructor in Elementary II Geometry.
